Lee leaves after five years to pursue other interests, according to Chan, who added that the agency was close to securing a replacement.
In the interim, Lee’s deputy — group CD Attlee Ku — will assume the responsibility of overseeing the agency’s creative department.
Lee first joined Burnett Hong Kong in 1997, rejoining the agency in 2002 after a stint in the US.
During her tenure at Burnett China, Lee oversaw a period of growth at the agency, including major brand work for the likes of sports brand Li-Ning and McDonald’s.
