BRIEFINGS: V rolls out regional lifestyle magazine

<p>Channel V has formed a venture with Gnomadic Publishing in </p><p>Singapore to launch a regional lifestyle entertainment and music </p><p>magazine, called enV. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Targeting 13 to 27-year old young readers, enV covers the latest </p><p>happenings in the music, entertainment and the Internet landscape. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With a circulation of 30,000 copies in Singapore, enV aims to take the </p><p>top position in the entertainment magazine market in the Lion City. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>As Channel V plans to roll out on the cable television platform in </p><p>Singapore, enV helps complement the music network's television </p><p>venture. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"We're confident that Channel V will be a roaring success in Singapore </p><p>when it is launched," said Ian Fong managing director and publisher of </p><p>Gnomadic which also publishes East magazine. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"And this parntership is proof of the long-term commitment the two </p><p>companies have towards the project and its future in Singapore," added </p><p>Mr Fong. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"This alliance is an excellent opportunity for us to further extend what </p><p>has already become a highly recognisable brand," said Channel V managing </p><p>director Steve Smith. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, Channel V has teamed up with Parfums Givenchy in a </p><p>fully-integrated media partnership to present Club V, a hot dance music </p><p>show. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Givenchy aimed to promote its brand new fragrance Oblique on the Club V </p><p>multi-marketing platform which comprises on air, on ground and online </p><p>elements. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The partnership will start in September and last for a 12-month period, </p><p>during which Channel V and Givenchy will present no less than nine major </p><p>Club V events in Greater China and Southeast Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The music network will launch the inaugural AWARE Awards calling for </p><p>agencies, creative and independent producers to create public service </p><p>announcement to raise concern on social issues. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>There will be six prize categories - Aids, equal opportunity, </p><p>anti-abuse, anti-drugs and cancer awareness. The winner will be given </p><p>US$100,000 worth of airtime across six Channel V services. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In China, the first peoplemeter rating results for Star TV and Channel V </p><p>has shown the music channel was most popular among the 15 to 24 year old </p><p>age group. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The music network is now seen by 35 per cent of all Star TV homes in the </p><p>mainland. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
