New York Jennifer Laing, the British-born chairman of Saatchi &
Saatchi in New York, has resigned. Her decision came in the same week
that the Paris-based Publicis group completed its takeover of the
Saatchis network.
Her resignation follows news that Saatchis is moving its group
headquarters from London to New York. Ms Liang, who has been associated
with the Saatchis group for almost 30 years, went to the US after a
period at the London agency.
Saatchis acquired her agency, Laing Henry, in the wake of the turmoil
that followed Maurice Saatchi's ousting in 1994. Ms Laing first joined
Saatchis in the 70s with its acquisition of Garland-Compton.
