During her time in the transparent house, which also includes an obscured private area, Yan Zi will go shopping at Watson's, drink refreshments from Uni-President and field calls during news interviews from boy band Machi on Sony Ericsson's latest video-enabled phones. Her Watsons visit will tie in with the chemist's latest promotion, in which customers spending NT$199 (US$6) can buy a special Mickey Mouse badge. The event, culminating in a special concert outside the house on the afternoon of October 9, will be webcast live on Yahoo with traditional media in attendance throughout the event to ensure widepread coverage.
MEC, which organised the event, including the commercial tie-ups on behalf of its client Warner Music, has also engaged TV maker Porton to supply a large plasma screen that will broadcast Yan Zi's videos outside the house and Secom as official security firm.
MEC has been overseeing Yan Zi's record launches since her debut release five years ago. MEC said the idea for this event was inspired by the album's title, Perfect Day, and the second song, First Day, which has been lined up as the follow-up single. "It is very very different from other album launches," said MEC's co-MD, Vince Cheng.
