BRANDING: UK design group ventures to Asia with S'pore shop

SINGAPORE: London-based independent brand design consultancy Design Bridge has opened an office in Singapore.

Mark Budden, principal account director, has been appointed managing director and Krystina Lyon, a member of the London business development team, as business development director.

Taking on the Asia chairman role is Nigel Seys-Phillips, who set up the 7-Eleven franchises in Singapore and Malaysia and is currently executive director of Singapore-based office system furniture manufacturer Technigroup.

The Asian operation counts Unilever, Sara Lee, Friesland Coberco and Asia-Pacific Breweries among its clients.

Design Bridge has been handling work for Asian clients in the past six years by commuting between London and the region at least 10 times a year.

Brand relaunches it has been involved in across the region in that time include Lipton teas, Tiger beer, She, Purol, Bacardi and Haepyo.

The Singapore office is majority owned by Design Bridge Group and a "significant share" by the management team. Turnover from the Asia-Pacific region for 2002 was approximately seven per cent of the group's total, with a projected increase of 33 per cent this year.
