BRANDING: Design choice - New Beetle

Love at first sight. The classic Beetle, the New Beetle and now, the Cabriolet version! The experience of driving and owning a classic Beetle can sometimes be likened to a love affair. Mine goes back to college. She was a late 70s model with metallic red with silver chrome details.

I borrowed it from a close buddy and upon ignition, the car (due to my lack of driving experience) rolled down the park way into the rear of his parents' car! Luckily there wasn't a single dent on the Beetle the other car sustained minor damage. The classic version is known for its affordability and the familiar sewing machine noise that the engine makes.

The New Beetle breaks the mould - it's something which stands apart from other boxes on wheels and says "I'm back!" For that very reason, you cannot helpfalling in love with it. Practically no other car but Volkswagen's New Beetle conveys the message that automobiles are more than a mere medium of transport. That they are also an expression of emotion, individuality and lifestyle. Whatever perspective you look at it, the New Beetle always brings a dynamic interaction of geometrical forms to life. Its design is founded on curves and rounded forms that have been cleverly combined to create a harmonious whole. With New Beetle Cabriolet, the design is absolutely unique, requiring no expression in terms of status.
