Today, India stands at a cusp of a great economic opportunity. The Tata Group Economic Survey predicts that there will be a total of 75 million households, called 'consuming classes' with an annual income level between US$1,000 to $4,800 by 2006. This compared to only 29 million such households in 1995. No marketer can afford to miss out on the India opportunity.
