Brahmachary fills top role at Y&R Asia

Y&R has filled the vacancy left by the departure of Chris Jaques by confirming JWT Japan chief Ambar Brahmachary as its new Asian president.

Brahmachary will depart JWT, where he has spent 30 years, in mid-December, relocating from Tokyo to Singapore. He will not, however, oversee Wunderman — which fell under Jaques' remit during his four-year tenure.

It is instead expected that Wunderman EVP Stephane Faggianelli will take charge of Y&R's below-the-line arm, reporting to Wunderman global chairman and CEO Daniel Morel.

Meanwhile, JWT Japan has yet to announce a successor for Brahmachary. During his decade at the agency, Brahmachary's key clients included Unilever, Nestlé, the Diamond Trading Co. and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
