Bossini hands media to Carat

SINGAPORE - Clothing retailer Bossini International has handed its estimated US$1 million media account for Singapore and Malaysia to Carat after a two-way pitch against incumbent Mindshare.

Mindshare has been handling this account since 2007 and prior to this the business was handled by Carat from 2005.

A Bossini spokesperson confirmed the news of the appointment but refused to give any details.

The clothing retailer launched its first store in Hong Kong in 1987 and was listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 1993.

The company now operates one of the largest retail fashion chains in Hong Kong and Macau. In recent years the Bossini brand has steadily expanded internationally, opening outlets in Singapore, Taiwan, mainland China and India. Last year the company announced 88 per cent growth in India where it plans to expand to 55 standalone stores by 2010.

Bossini International recently announced a partnership with Smiley World, a company which licenses the use of 1,200-plus internet-style emoticons to brands in the clothing and accessories, shoes, gifts, home and textiles categories.
