BOA aims for higher profile after agency shift

ASIA-PACIFIC - Bank of America has named Fleishman Hillard as its new PR agency for Asia-Pacific, as the financial giant looks to boost its regional profile amid its acquisition of US investment bank Merrill Lynch.

Fleishman displaces four-year incumbent Citigate Dewe Rogerson following a competitive review. While the review began prior to the ongoing Merrill Lynch deal, Bank of America is hoping to provide stakeholders in Asia with a clearer idea of its strengths and capabilities.

“Obviously, the challenge is giving confidence to employees, customers and the investment community,” said Fleishman Hillard Hong Kong general manager Rachel Catanach, who will handle the business.

“That is the challenge faced by all financial institutions at this time and public relations has a key role in providing that confidence”.
