Discount retailer BIG W, skincare brand Nivea and eyewear chain Specsavers recorded the biggest gains in ad awareness among Australian consumers in March, according to YouGov BrandIndex.
The monthly ranking tracks the increase in the share of consumers who recall seeing advertising for a brand in the past two weeks, measured on a four-week rolling basis.
BIG W led the rankings with a 5.8 percentage-point increase, rising from 28.2% on March 1 to 34.0% by March 30. Nivea followed with a 5.5-point lift, climbing from 16.9% mid-month to 22.4% by March 31. Specsavers placed third, up 5.3 points from 27.8% to 33.0% over the same period.
The gains point to strong campaign visibility as brands competed for attention in a crowded advertising market.
Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex tracks thousands of brands daily, with ad awareness based on consumer responses to whether they have seen advertising for a brand in the past two weeks. The March rankings are based on a four-week moving average from March 1 to March 31, 2026, among Australian adults aged 18 and above.
