Bhasin ends 20-years of Lowe service, replaces Halmarick at Aegis Media

MUMBAI - Aegis Media has replaced outgoing South Asia chief executive Richard Halmarick (pictured) with Ashish Bhasin, who brings 20 years of service at Lowe India to an end.

The former Initiative India president will also run Aegis's Southeast Asia operation, and will be based in Mumbai. He will report to Patrick Stahle, CEO of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific.

Bhasin ends a 20-year career with Lowe Group, where he was latterly executive vice president and Asia-Pacific director of integrated marketing of Lowe Worldwide.

"Aegis has not been the big presence it should be in this part of the world, and I am relishing the challenge to help the network fulfill its potential," he said.

"I have been impressed with the people at Aegis, and I have a good feeling about the direction we're headed in. Media agencies increasingly need a brand perspective, and I hope to add value in that regard," he added.

Stahle commented: "Ashish has a good understanding of media, but also of the services media agencies are increasingly required to offer, such as CRM, sports marketing and events. He will be a great asset to the network."

Halmarick announced his departure after a ten-year spell with Aegis in February.
