BBDO/Proximity promotes Burge

SINGAPORE - BBDO/Proximity Singapore has promoted managing director Jean-Paul Burge (pictured) to the position of chief executive officer with immediate effect.

Burge will continue to report to Chris Thomas, chairman and CEO of BBDO and Proximity Asia-Pacific, who said in a statement: “Jean-Paul has made a significant difference since moving to Singapore. His brief from me was to turn our Singapore office into a world-class agency - an agency that could manage complex regional clients as well as win local Singaporean business.”

“He and the team have done exactly that, growing the agency rapidly. He led the fight to win SingTel and Guinness in competitive pitches and developed an offering that attracted network clients to be centralised out of the Singapore office. Notably in the last eighteen months, Mercedes, HP, J&J and Masterfoods."

In addition, Burge will oversee other key regional businesses from the Singapore office, which is the Asian hub for clients such as Fonterra, P&G and Visa.

"The first 18 months have been about getting the right people and accounts into the agency. Our challenge now will be to produce more creative and effective work across both BBDO and Proximity for our clients," added Burge.
