BBDO picks Jhala to lead India office

NEW DELHI - BBDO has appointed Ajai Jhala (pictured) as chief executive of its India operation to work alongside Josy Paul, BBDO India's chairman and national creative director.

An advertising veteran, Jhala relocates to India from London, where he has been working in a brand consulting capacity. His career has also seen stints as global communications director for Unilever at Lowe Worldwide, and as planning director at Ogilvy & Mather in New York.

Jhala's appointment follows those of Manoj Deb and Sandipan Battacharya as executive creative directors, Partho Sengupta as creative director, Sangeet Pillai as planning director, and Rajesh Sikroria as business director and vice-president. The agency opened in December last year following the win of PepsiCo’s 7Up account.
