BBDO names ex-JWT chief to new regional position
<p>TAIPEI: J. Walter Thompson's former CEO for Northeast Asia, Raymond </p><p>So, has been named Asia-Pacific chairman of BBDO, a newly-created post </p><p>which observers say signals the group's renewed ambitions in Asia. Tom </p><p>Kao, its former president for Hong Kong and China, has also returned as </p><p>deputy chairman. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>So's role was previously the responsibility of agency network president </p><p>Jean-Michel Goudard. So, who will oversee nine countries, has passed </p><p>over Hong Kong or Singapore - the usual choice for a regional hub - for </p><p>Taipei. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Kao will be based in Hong Kong. Prior to their appointments, both men </p><p>were with Hong Kong telecoms provider PCCW. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
