BBDO lands NETS brief

SINGAPORE - Singapore's largest e-payment operator has handed its creative account to BBDO after a three-way pitch that included Y&R and Batey. NETS' former creative agency Alchemy declined to participate in the pitch, as did Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather.

Jean-Paul Burge, CEO of BBDO/Proximity Singapore, confirmed the news and said: “In 2009, as consumers become ever more vigilant of spending, we expect brands like NETS to play an even greater role in our lives. We look forward to developing work that best does justice to this growing influence.’

NETS handed its media account to Mindshare in July last year and was in the news recently for launching a six-month mobile payment trial.

The e-payment operator has been facing increasing competition lately.
