Omnicom Asia chairman Michael Birkin and BBDO Asia chairman and CEO Chris Thomas declined to comment, as did Shunya CEO Joan Ren.
Shunya offers PR, marketing services, advertising and events. The group rebranded as Shunya in 2005, after previously being known as PFT.
A source close to the situation termed the deal an “obvious move” for BBDO, but noted that it was unlikely anything had yet been finalised.
