BBDO Guerrero Ortega teams up with WWF to go green

MANILA - BBDO Guerrero Ortega has launched a project to reduce its impact on the environment with the help of WWF, its client.

The NGO has begun assessing the agency’s carbon footprint, and will give advice on how to reduce the company' carbon emissions.

The agency already uses energy-saving light bulbs and restricts air conditioning to rooms in use, but WWF will look at bringing in initiatives such as recycling and car-sharing schemes.

In return, BBDO Guerrero Ortega produces campaigns for WWF targeted at other companies to encourage them to go green.

David Guerrero (pictured), the agency’s chairman and chief creative officer, said: In the Philippines, for most companies the main incentive for reducing carbon emissions is cost saving."

"But this is a country which is more affected by climate change than most. Weather disturbances have caused widespread disruption, so awareness of climate change is actually relatively high. People are starting to vote with their wallets and support businesses that doing something to halt climate change.
