Pauline Cheah, PR manager for Audi, declined to confirm that Batey had been appointed. However, according to sources, the agency started working on the advertisement weeks ago.
The print ad, running via local distributor Premium Automobiles, reads, ‘Finally the emotional part of your brain completely agrees with the logical part’. Batey and Y&R had been shortlisted for the account since May, after Audi began a creative pitch in February.
The result, however, has been delayed several times as the German marquee shifts its distribution model from Premium to a National Sales Company (NSC). The new structure takes effect on 1 October.
