Bates reinforces Nokia team

<P>Bates Singapore has boosted its Nokia account team, hiring a slew of new faces as the mobile giant embarks on a worldwide creative benchmarking exercise (Media, 16 June). </P> <P><br><br><BR>Liam Winston joins as regional business director, a newly-created position to oversee the regional Nokia business. He joins from Y&R Singapore, where he was regional account director on the Citibank business. In addition, Mehreen Ahmed has been appointed to another newly-created role as associate account director. She has previously worked with George Patterson Y&R and Publicis Mojo in Sydney, on brands such as Foxtel, Nestlé and Coca-Cola. </P> <P><br><br><BR>"Together, Winston and Ahmed bring with them understanding of markets across the world," said Simon Lockyer, GM, Bates Asia Singapore. </P> <P><br><br><BR>"Winston's experience in driving regional communications for global brands puts him in good stead for Nokia." </P> <P><br><br><BR>Bates has also brought in a new creative duo for the account - Monika Lie and Yvonne Hung, who will also work on Heineken regionally, and new local client, MDIS. Art-based Lie joins from a boutique agency in Los Angeles, while Hung, a copywriter, joins from Eight Partnership in Hong Kong. <BR></P>
