Bates puts on US$25m in first quarter of year
<p>Bates Asia has pulled in more than US$25 million in new </p><p>business across the region during the first quarter of 2000. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The wins resulted in its revenue jumping 21 per cent on the year to </p><p>US$13.2 million from US$11 million for the first three </p><p>months of last year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"This not only shows that Asia's economy is recovering, it underlines </p><p>the fact that it is recovering where it matters most: Hong Kong, </p><p>Singapore, China and Taiwan," Bates Asia regional president Jeffrey Yu </p><p>told MEDIA. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The agency's new wins included Warner Lambert brand Lipitor regionally, </p><p>asiaone.com in Singapore; 2Cube.com and Coca-Cola's summer promotion in </p><p>Hong Kong; Chinaren.com in China; Nestea in Thailand and BAT assignments </p><p>in Indonesia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In addition, General Motors in China has consolidated all its </p><p>advertising assignments with Bates after the car maker assigned the </p><p>agency to also service Jinbei GM following a competitive pitch against </p><p>McCann-Erickson. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
