Bates makes Nokia's six-strong shortlist

LONDON - Nokia has shortlisted six agency offerings for its US$320 million global creative review, including Asian incumbent BatesAsia.

Bates makes the cut in conjunction with European incumbent Grey, as one of two teams representing WPP. The other is JWT, which is also joined by DDB, Mother, Wieden & Kennedy and BBH on the shortlist.

The six contenders will be briefed in London in advance of presentations and workshops.

“We are part of the original WPP Team Nokia offering and we are still very confident about the whole thing,” said BatesAsia president Jeffrey Yu, dismissing reports that Bates was no longer part of the process.

A Nokia spokesperson declined to comment.
