Bates expanding Indochina offer from Thai office

BANGKOK: Bates has set up a support office in Bangkok for its Indochina operations to service the marketing communications needs of Thai and Singapore firms operating in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

The support teams, which have their own planning, creative, CRM and field marketing capabilities, share back- end administrative facilities with the main agency. Their function is purely to provide back-up to Bates, 141 and media partner Zenith offices in Indochina. Bates Indochina chief executive officer, Rob Graham, said: "These offices only play a support role for Singapore or Thai clients looking at going into Indochina or who are already there. They don't compete for clients. But we need them because of our growing business base there and it is essential that we have these units in place to meet the needs of the marketing directors in Bangkok and Singapore."
