The appointment is effective immediately.
She is tasked to lead Weber Shandwick's operations in Thailand and helping to further bolster collaboration across McCann Worldgroup disciplines in Thailand.
“Barkha is a highly accomplished communications specialist with an impressive career that spans the financial services, consumer goods, IT and engineering sectors,” said Baxter Jolly, Weber Shandwick’s vice-chairman for Asia-Pacific.
“She has a strong track record and will be an invaluable member in helping us build our capacity and capabilities in the longer-term in this very important market," added Jolly.
Patel has more than 15 years' industry experience in Asia-Pacific, five of which were with Weber Shandwick in Singapore, where she received the Asia-Pacific Leadership Award in 2005.
