Bank Rakyat Indonesia picks Euro RSCG for creative account

JAKARTA - Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), the second-largest bank by assets in Indonesia, is believed to have selected Euro RSCG as creative agency for its BritAma account following a multi-agency pitch.

As many as seven agencies including Bates, Grey and Ogilvy, plus a host of local agencies, were reportedly vying for the account which is estimated at US$5 million.

The BritAma savings account is one of the Indonesian bank’s core products. Euro RSCG is expected to take on through-the-line duties for BRI, including above-the-line advertising and below-the-line promotions.

In April this year, BRI appointed local shop Oze to handle its consumer loan product following a five-way pitch.

The state-owned bank was recently included in Forbes’ 50 most impressive Asian businesses and reported a net profit of US$345.7 million for the first half of fiscal 2009, up 23 per cent from the same period a year earlier.
