Baidu aids visually impaired with mobile platform

BEIJING - Baidu.com has launched a mobile phone platform to aid the visually impaired with phone calling, messaging and mobile internet surfing services.

Baidu’s mobile platform for the blind is a collaboration between Beijing-based Protection and Ease chairman and CEO Cao Jun, who is also visually impaired.

This marks the first public service application from Baidu on an open platform.

Baidu also launched a ‘Baidu Blind Search’ portal online in 2007.

The platform is now incorporated to mobile usage.
