Bacardi China selects Agency.com

SHANGHAI - Agency.com has won the online advertising account for the relaunch of Bacardi in China, following a pitch that also included OgilvyOne.

While the liquor brand has been successful in terms of market penetration during its first decade in the PRC, mainland consumers tend to see Bacardi as a mainstream brand. The new campaign aims to build brand recognition and loyalty among fickle twentysomething Chinese urbanites.

“Our target audience spends a lot of time online, which means that online advertising is really important,” said Carol Cheng, luxury brands portfolio manager at Bacardi China.
