BA calls global PR pitch

LONDON - British Airways (BA) is reviewing its PR accounts across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

The seven-figure business, which does not include the UK, is currently split between six agencies. Cohn & Wolfe, for example, handles West and North Europe, while Grayling oversees the Pacific region.

However, BA Asia and Pacific PR executive Tehreem Ashraf said the airline is hoping to consolidate the accounts with one agency. She added that the review follows a reorganisation of BA's geographic structure across the three regions, for which comms is now headed by PR manager Anne Morton. ”It's not that we're not happy,' said Ashraf. ‘With the new organisation it makes sense.” Ashraf added that all the incumbents, plus some additional agencies, had been invited to take part in the pitch.

New contracts will start in August.
