Automechanika impresses at KLCC

Automechanika Asia is a Southeast Asian showcase for auto parts and components, accessories and repair and maintenance equipment. The event aims to offer a professional forum where automotive industry suppliers and buyers can meet, create partnerships and build their regional business.

ChallengesThe main challenge was to attract good-quality international and domestic visitors andexhibitors. Targeted clients included Unipac Engineering, Proton and Petroretail.KLCC was a new venue for the show. It had previously been a big success so the operations team had to work closely with KLCC and the contractor to sufficiently

promote the show and make sure it ran smoothly.

 ExecutionOver 5,480 buyers from 60 countries and regions visited the fifth Automechanika Asia, which spanned over four days. The show aimed to be not just a product source, but also an information exchange and educational forum for auto industry practitioners. A number of seminars and other special events, such as the SACHS National Mechanics Challenge, the Collision Repair Workshop and theAutomechanika Academy took place at the fair.Welcome drinks took place after the first exhibition day at KLCC, and were hosted by Messe Frankfurt and MATRADE. SACHS National Mechanics Challenges, sponsored by exhibitor ZF South East Asia, took place on the last day of the

show. The challenge aimed to encourage local motor repairers to continue learning about the latest automotive technology.

 VerdictCho Chee-Seng, president of the Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners’ Association of Malaysia, says: “This year, we had over 300 members from allover Malaysia visiting Automechanika Asia and attending our annual convention,which is held concurrently.“The 2007 Automechanika Asia had an excellent location, a good mix of products on display and a good seminar programme.”
