AstraZeneca calls pitch for cholesterol drug Crestor in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has called an integrated agency pitch for its cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor and has already started pitch meetings, with the result expected in Q4.

One agency source who has joined the pitch told Campaign Asaia-Pacific that the client has invited a number of local and 4A agencies.

The source added that there is stiff competition for such medications in the market, with Pfizer being a main competitor.

“Generally this health issue relates more to  middle-age people who have diabetes due to the present lifestyle and diet, but the trend is changing, and younger people are being affected,” the source said.

The source pointed out that Hong Kong has the most strlngent regulations governing healthcare marketing in Asia. "So our challenges are to understand the regulations and to work within them and learn what we can say or what we can't say in our marketing and communications," the source said.
