Asiarooms.com appoints BBDO Proximity Singapore for APAC communications

SINGAPORE - Asiarooms.com, an online accommodation provider and a division of the European-based TUI Travel, has selected BBDO Proximity Singapore as its integrated marketing communications agency for Asia.

The appointment follows a two month agency search and a creative pitch between three shortlisted agencies, BBDO Proximity, Iris and Leo Burnett Arc, that was managed by The Observatory Asia-Pacific.

Nicki Kenyon, managing director of Asiarooms.com, commented, “The selection process was rigorous and thorough and we looked at several factors, including the agency’s network, strategic capability and creative strength.”

BBDO Proximity will start work immediately from its Singapore regional hub to help in strategy development, localising and also to deliver the campaigns in several key markets across the region.

Jonathan Teo, executive creative director for BBDO Proximity, summed up the agency’s win by saying, “It is very rare when you win a big piece of business in a category you love and where you have amazing clients. We cannot wait to start work.”
