Asia-Pacific adspend forecast to overcome global credit crunch

ASIA-PACIFIC - ZenithOptimedia's latest adspend forecast has revealed how developing markets in Asia-Pacific are set to grow despite the global credit crunch, while the region's adspend is expected to overtake Western Europe's by 2010.

While growth in North America and Europe will slow to 3.8 per cent in 2008, adspend for the rest of the world will grow by as much as 11.1 per cent, from 10.9 per cent to US$106 million, from US$98 million, in 2007.

Developing markets are also set to dominate up to 63 per cent of adspend growth while increasing their global share from 27 to 33 per cent between 2007 and 2010.

China is predicted to rise from fifth to fourth in the rankings of the largest advertising markets globally, while India will rise from fourteenth to thirteenth.
