Asia Inc loses Mellor to Asiaweek
<p>Mr William Mellor has quit as editor-in-chief of Asia-Inc to take </p><p>up the post of senior editor at Asiaweek. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>His place has been taken by Mr David Uren, who was previously the editor </p><p>of Australian business magazine, Business Review Weekly. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Mellor's move comes after Asia-Inc merged its operations with </p><p>regional conference organisation Pacific Rim Forum. The aim of the </p><p>merger was said to be to meet the needs of corporate clients and </p><p>business readers for insights to the rapidly changing Asian business </p><p>landscape. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The merger was accompanied by a shift in the editorial positioning of </p><p>Asia-Inc to provide more analysis of management, financial and business </p><p>policy issues for business in the region. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>It is also introducing a new section on science-based innovation, </p><p>particularly life sciences, and its implications for the future business </p><p>of Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>About a year ago, the monthly publication was bought out by Mr Timothy </p><p>Ong, one of Asia's top businessmen, who relaunched the magazine about </p><p>six months later. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Asia-Inc has had a chequered history. It was launched in 1992 but was </p><p>seldom in the black. At one stage, staff pooled their resources to buy </p><p>out the magazine in order to keep it running. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
