A brand new industry awards show - the Asia Graphics Awards - is being
organised by media to honour the works of the region's top graphic
designers.
Submissions have already started to come in following a call for entries
last month.
These new awards are being created because the graphic design sector of
the communications industry has reached a high level of excellence,
especially in Japan and Hong Kong, according to Alan Chan of Alan Chan
Design.
"Over the past 10 years, Hong Kong's graphic design industry has
accelerated to become one of the most respectable design centres in
Asia, excluding Japan, which is home to the region's best designers.
Other Asian countries have made similar advances. So this is the right
time for the awards," said Chan, who is also a judge on the Asia
Graphics Awards.
