Asean partners with CNN to raise tourism profile

HONG KONG: The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) has partnered with CNN to launch its first-ever advertising campaign on the network.

The promotion, entitled 'Visit Asean Campaign' began running last month and is targeted at promoting tourism in Asean's member countries.

According to Nicholas Morgan, senior vice-president, ad sales, Turner International Asia-Pacific, "The overall message is that Asean offers a wide and exciting range of diverse destinations."

In addition, CNN is also airing specially-produced 'Sights and Sounds' on-air spots promoting individual Asean countries' tourism. "This is to showcase a collage of various cultural and historical attractions of the countries in which CNN airs." These spots were produced by TBWA-ISC/Malaysia, CNN and Asean.
