Areerak leaves MEC S'pore for GroupM role

MEC Singapore MD Soonthorn Areerak is to return to Bangkok to become the Thailand director of GroupM's new entertainment, sponsorship and partnership practice, ESP. <BR><BR> Areerak will leave MEC at the end of the month, two years after shifting to MEC Singapore from MEC Thailand. With Thailand being seen as a key market for the nascent ESP practice, Areerak will work with all of the GroupM agencies to develop and implement strategies for clients. <BR><BR> His successor as MD of MEC Singapore is expected to be in place by January 2007. In the interim, general manager Sharon Soh will oversee the agency.
