Arcilla had held a series of senior posts with some of the biggest food and drinks companies in the Philippines before his move to Shanghai, culminating in the COO role at RFM Corporation, the second-largest food and beverages concern in the country.
After joining Coke in 2002, Arcilla oversaw through-the-line initiatives in China, including the company's biggest-ever TV investment in that market — a drama modelled on US hit Friends which ran last summer, featuring the Coca-Cola brand in each episode. The company was unable to return comment on its plans at presstime.
