APCO hires chairmen, MD in China

GREATER CHINA - Communications consultancy APCO Worldwide has appointed Kenneth Jarrett (pictured) and Alastair Campbell as vice chairmen for the Greater China region, as well as Sharon Ruwart as managing director of its Beijing office.

Based in Shanghai and Beijing respectively, Jarrett and Campbell will offer strategic counsel to the agency’s clients. While Jarrett previously served as US consul general in Shanghai, Campbell was formerly president of Thomson SA, a provider of video solutions for the media and entertainment industries.

Ruwart joins from Elsevier Science & Technology China, where she worked as managing director. Her appointment follows the promotion of Murray King, who recently became managing director of APCO Shanghai from his previous position as director. The two replace former head Patrick Horgan, who relocated to Brussels to take up the role of managing director of EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Asia)-Asia.

In China, APCO also has offices in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
