APB Singapore restructures marketing

SINGAPORE - Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore assistant GM of marketing Erik Van Vulpen has departed the company as the marketing and sales divisions integrate under a new commercial department.

Van Vulpen, who joined APBS in 2005, said that APB had decided to centralise its local and regional marketing functions under regional group commercial director Edmond Neo. However a spokesperson denied this, saying that the only restructuring taking place was the consolidation of the local operating company’s sales and marketing teams under a new commercial department.

Heading this team is newly appointed general manager, Daniel Teo, who reports to Bennett Neo, general manager of APBS. Local marketing strategy will be managed by the commercial department, said the spokesperson.

"With an integrated commercial department, the company aims to achieve more focused, efficient and effective sales and marketing of our beer brands in the Singapore market."

Earlier this year, APBS parted ways with BBH a month after appointing them. It is believed that local campaigns are now being handled by Saatchi & Saatchi, while regional APB strategy continues to be led out of Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia.

APBS also ended its tenure with PR firm, Foreword Communications, last month.
