Ang moves over to Posterscope as exec director

Thomas Ang has been named executive director for outdoor advertising company Posterscope Southeast Asia, after stepping down as general manager of taxi advertising company, Comfort Ads, at the end of last year.

Ang will oversee Posterscope's general operations and will work to strengthen its position in Southeast Asia, with a key focus on the Singapore market. He will report to managing director Koh Khong Hua. Ang said he was looking forward to the opportunity to look into a wider perspective of outdoor media options. "When the MD of Posterscope approached me and shared the opportunities of working with a big group, which involves the planning and buying of outdoor media, I thought the potential was limitless," said Ang. Posterscope's key accounts include Beck's, Konica Minolta, Tiger Beer, Sanyo, City Chain, Adidas and Olympus. Ang had been with Comfort Ads for 10 years, and left following its merger with SBS Advertising. Advertisers can now buy three transit media from one media owner following the merger. The newly-formed company, ComfortDelgro, sells inventory for buses and North-East line MRT trains and stations, and both Comfort and City Cabs fleet, which has 16,700 taxis in operation.
