Allianz shortlists shops for $8m media business

SINGAPORE: Allianz Insurance has shortlisted several undisclosed agencies to pitch against Initiative Media for its media account, covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Korea, with a decision imminent.

Agencies have already presented to Flora Lee, Allianz corporate advertising manager and Louisa Masetto, Allianz Asia-Pacific senior vice-president corporate communications, who are overseeing the pitch. Masetto said the account involved media buying and planning for Allianz' regional advertising.

"Allianz learnt a lot when it launched last year's regional ad campaign so we want to take what we learned from that exercise and examine the other media agencies in the market,

she said.

Criteria for agency selection include cost effectiveness, the skills and expertise of the team who will work on the account, ability to implement and monitor how all the facets of the campaign will be implemented in the various markets, consumer insights, experience working on regional accounts and the agencies' strategy and approach in terms of how they plan to reach the target audiences. The regional review excludes the creative component held by BBDO Singapore.
