Al Jazeera sets up commercial sales office in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR - Al Jazeera has set up a commercial sales office in Kuala Lumpur to focus on the Asia-Pacific market.

The office will become operational in the first quarter of 2009 and will aim to forge closer relationships with Al Jazeera’s existing and potential partners in the region.

Hedi Smirani, currently the global sales manager, will take on the role of commercial director for Asia-Pacific starting early in 2009.

Al Jazeera English launched in 2006.
