Al Jazeera names Parsons to senior role

DOHA - Al Jazeera Network has named Nigel Parsons (pictured) as the new managing director of business acquisition and development of the Al Jazeera Network.

Parsons will be aiming to expand the Middle East-based English news channel into international markets.

Joining the company initially as managing director of the English division in 2004, Parsons oversaw the launch of the news and current affairs channel.

His career includes stints at Associated Press Television News, BBC World Service Radio, and Worldwide Television News.
