AIS win sparks roll out of MRM Digital

BANGKOK - McCann WorldGroup has marked the launch of a regional e-marketing hub in Thailand with the win of the digital business of AIS.

Thailand’s largest telco will join clients Nestlé, Intel, FHM magazine and Pernod Ricard in a new service to be called MRM Digital. The unit, which was awarded the business as a project, has been tasked to boost membership across all AIS brands.

Jinn Powprapai, hired earlier this summer (Media, 3 May), will run the business as MD.

MRM Thailand has come under pressure from clients for a regional digital hub, said McCann Worldgroup Thailand president and CEO Mark Ingrouille.

 “MRM Thailand started off in January with 13 people. We now have 38 and will operate as a digital support unit for McCann across the region,” he said.

Jinn returned to Thailand after a 15-year stint in Silicon Valley working for digital and web-based DM firms, including Infostreet and Chaidea, a company he founded.
