Airtel, Disney link in mobile content alliance for India
<P>MUMBAI: Mobile services provider Airtel has teamed up with Disney to offer a range of branded mobile entertainment content. </P> <P><BR>'Disney mobile theatre' enables Airtel subscribers to access mobisodes -- animated 30-second shorts -- as well as downloads of Disney images, animations, videos, ring-tones and games from Airtel's entertainment portal, Airtel Live.</P> <P><BR>"India is a priority for the entire company and we are delivering on our strategy to expand our presence here," said Rajat Jain, managing director, The Walt Disney Company, India. "Using technology to advance our content and its distribution will play a fundamental role in securing our future." </P> <P><BR>Products are priced from Rs 10 (US$0.22) for wallpaper, Rs 99 for a Java game and Rs 15 for each 'mobisode'. </P> <P><BR>Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) has mobile content in 12 other Asian markets including Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, China, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines. </P>
