Former incumbent Fulford PR has been invited to re-pitch for the account, along with other agencies. “Fulford has been with us from day one and the channel is really starting to fly, but we’re looking for more agencies who can handle additional markets,” said Debbie Lee, VP of sales and marketing at AFC.
The 24-hour pay-TV channel plans to launch in Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, as well as Korea, China and Japan.
For the time being, Lee said the priority lay in PR communications and appointing an advertising agency would be the next step. AFC launched in 2005 in Singapore, and has also been airing in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
Initial expansion ambitions faced setbacks last year because of technical delays and lack of satellite capacities.
