Aegis to rebrand research arm as rival takes name
<p>HONG KONG: Aegis Group will rename and rebrand its global research </p><p>division, Aegis Research, because a rival has taken the name in the </p><p>United States. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The change will occur some time next year, according to Aegis Research </p><p>worldwide chief executive officer, Adrian Chedore, who declined to </p><p>provide further details on the rebranding. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>But he said the move would not stop the company's aggressive expansion </p><p>plans earmarked for Asia-Pacific and Europe. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The company has plans to open an office in Japan and Australia within </p><p>the next six months. We are also planning to build up our presence in </p><p>Western Europe," Chedore said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Peter Snell, the current head of the Aegis-owned AMI Singapore </p><p>operation, is tipped to head the Tokyo office. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Last March, AMI was acquired by the Aegis Group, which also operates </p><p>independent media buying and planning agency, Carat. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Chedore, who founded AMI in 1991, was appointed to head Aegis Research </p><p>globally in September. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
