Aegis names Stahle AP chief

Aegis Media Asia-Pacific has appointed Patrick Stahle as its new chief executive.

Stahle (pictured), until today acting CEO of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific as well CEO of Aegis Media Nordics, will relinquish his duties in the Nordic region and move to Asia to run the group permanently.

"My brief is not only to strengthen our position in Asia-Pacific in terms of size, but to shift the perception of our company," said Stahle. "Unlike Europe, where we are in a dominant position, in Asia we are a challenger brand," he added. "We want to be seen as a market-leading communications agency."

The appointment ends a long-running saga of senior management changes at the company, which began when David Liu, CEO of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific for a seven-year stint, vacated the position a year ago.

Liu's departure saw David Verklin, chief of Carat Americas, add Asia-Pacific to his remit. Verklin then split duties for Carat Asia-Pacific between Thomas Wong and Richard Halmarick, before Wong left the company, sparking another management reshuffle.
