Aegis Media chief resigns suddenly

GLOBAL - Mainardo de Nardis (pictured), the worldwide chief executive of Aegis Media, has abruptly left the company after two years running the network.

He will be succeeded by Aegis Media’s Europe, Middle East and Africa CEO, Jerry Buhlmann. The Italian took on the global CEO role - then a new position - in October 2005.

He joined from MEC, where he was also global CEO. Robert Lerwill, the CEO of Aegis, said: “I thank Mainardo for all he has done. He is a true professional.”

Patrick Stahle, CEO of Aegis Media Asia-Pacific, said: “Mainardo has done a good job of putting us on the map as a global entity. The board has decided it’s time to take things to the next level.”

“Jerry is a great client man and has a strong new business record in Europe. He will increase our capacity to win global business, which is very important in Asia-Pacific.”
