Advertising up on buses and trains

HONG KONG - Transport advertising and outdoor advertising platforms are growing, with advertising on bus bodies and railroad stations leading in Hong Kong, according to Nielsen Media Index.

Adspend on outdoor media has increased six per cent in the first three quarters this year, up from HK$2.18 billion (US$ 281 million) last year.

“Three quarters of Hong Kong people travelled by bus or train last week. The stable passenger flow guarantees accessibility to outdoor advertisements - this is very evident in Hong Kong in particular where other Nielsen studies have shown that people go out the most compared to their regional counterparts,” said Helen Pemberton, executive director of Nielsen Media.
